“Forever Loved, Never Forgotten”

The Navy Gold Star Program is eternally grateful for the sacrifice of those Service Members who have died in service to our country. To help us to never forget, we have set up this tribute page to honor and remember the memory of those lives. If you would like to honor the memory of your Sailor, Soldier, Marine, Airman or Coast Guardsman through the Navy Gold Star website please submit your thoughts and a photo.

Rich wanted to join the Navy from the time he was a little boy according to his parents, Jesse & Sue Allen. Rich was the only child to Jesse and Sue Allen, and he loved them more than life itself.

He joined the Sea Cadets www.seacadets.org when he was 11 years old until he was 18 years old and then enlisted in the Navy immediately after Highschool, and went into the  LDO program 10 years later. He was on Submarines for most of his career. He was the epitome of and outstanding enlisted Sailor 10 years as well as Officer for 11 years when he unexpectedly passed away on 08/09/10.

There is so much I can tell you about him, He was a Godly man and he loved his family with all his heart and soul, but when it came to the Navy, there was a gleem in his eye that no one could take away. I have never seen anyone love their career as much as he did his, and I have grown up my whole life connected to the military, as my father was in the Navy for 33 years. To this day, no one can compare.

Rich and I have 4 children together. Our daughter Emily, is married to Captain John Henderson. Our oldest son STS2 Dean Allen, he is married to Carrie and they have our 1st Granddaughter Zoey, Our middle son Garrett, he is married to Ana, and they have our 2nd Granddaughter Eliana , and our youngest son AC3 Dayton Allen followed his father's footsteps and joined the Navy as well.

Rich was able to swear our 2 oldest son’s into the Military, but passed away before he could our youngest, so our son in law swore Dayton into the Navy.

Forever in our Hearts <3
